NCOA Support Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQ's in this section is updated daily.  We will momentarily document and gather questions that are most widely asked, post them here.  

NCOA Account

Are there any benefits to signing up for an account with NCOA?
Yes.  There are many benefits. Most of the benefits which you will find most beneficial to you are available when you become an NCOA Official.  Although an account is not required to attend camps, you'll want to stay in the loop of information that are passed from the Supervisor/Group Leaders.  When the Supervisor/Group Leaders sends monthly newsletters, get on the list.  Some of that information may help you get hired.

Do I need to register for an account with NCOA to sign up for camp?
No.  It is totally optional.  When you sign up for an NCOA sponsored event, you'll have the option to create a NCOA Standard account at the same time.

In order to become a NCOA Official Member, do I need to sign up for an account?
Yes.  An account will be required.  A NCOA Group Leader account will come with many features which are only available to approved members, which you may find helpful in bettering your officiating skills.  A NCOA Standard is required if you are looking to purchase items from our store.

How much does a NCOA account cost?
FREE.  If you receive a contract from our Supervisors, you'll have to pay the Membership Fee which includes your Official's account.

I signed up for a NCOA account.  Now what?
Great!  If you haven't confirmed your email address by clicking on the link in the confirmation email that was sent to you after you signed up for an account.   When you log in for the first time, you will be directed to a welcome page.  Everytime after this when you log in you will be directed to your profile.  Only on the first time, you will click on the link to take you to your profile.  Complete the setup of your profile.  This way, when our Supervisors and Group Leaders observe the list of Officials to hire, make sure you are up to date on your quizzes and your profile looking great.

How do I know if I have been hired as a NCOA Official?
The easy notification is a personal email from the Supervisor informing you of your accomplishments and top performances.  If not, you should recieve an email from Arbitersports welcoming you to Northern California Officials Association - North.  Click on the link to set up your profile with Arbitersports (This is different than your NCOANORTH.COM profile.). If you haven't signed up for an account here at ncoanorth.com, you should do so now by clicking here That way, if you receive a contract, the Supervisor can grant you access to upgrade your account to pay for the Membership Fees and accept the agreements to your contract.

I received an email from Arbitersports welcoming me to NCOA.  What do I do next?
Congratulations!  If you haven't signed up for an account here at NCOANORTH.COM, you should do so now. by clicking here. That way, the Web Administrator can grant you access and upgrade your account to an NCOA Officials account.

I signed up for an account with NCOA, but still have not been granted the access to upgrade my account.  Should I worry?
Check your profile again.  Log in to your account, and click on NCOA Membership Status.  If you have been granted upgrade access, there should be a notification at the bottom of the page within the tab.  

If its been over 2 to 3 days after the Arbitersports Welcoming email and you still do not have access to upgrade your account, then something may be wrong.  Contact us right away.

How long is my account valid?
The Participant account is FREE and does not need to be renewed.  If you were extended a contract from NCOA, you will be required to pay for the Membership Fee and accept the agreements of the Staff Contract.  The Membership Fee varies each year.  Please contact your Supervisor or Group Leaders for more information.

NCOA Sponsored Camp

When is the camp?
NCOA hosts a yearly boys and girl's basketball officiating Camp @ Sacramento State University,  It usually takes place sometime in June.  Registration usually begins in early February and will remain open until it is filled, or end of March.  Please check the website for more exact details.

How do I apply or attend?
You will have to apply online when registration opens each year around February.
