2023-2024 NCOA North Basketball CAMP

We hope this message finds you well as the end of March is approaching. This SAVE The DATE announcement is meant to serve as a calendar placeholder for the upcoming NCOA Summer Camp, scheduled to take place May 31 - June 2, 2024 at Foothill High School, with the tentative schedule as follows:

Camp Theme: Redefining the Basics

Camp Cost: $99.00

Friday: 5pm - 9pm (Classroom only)
Saturday: 9am - 9pm (Games, Classroom training and Video Breakdown)
Sunday: 9am - 6pm (Games, Classroom training and Video Breakdown)

The desire is to put a heavy emphasis on the following during camp:

• 3-Person Training
• Rules Knowledge
• High School Mechanics
• Coach/Player Interactions

The 3-person training opportunities the past few years have been minimal due to low sign-ups for the Summer Camp. We are hopeful to increase the number of attendees for this camp so the majority of the assignments can be scheduled as 3-person. There have been discussions with the Coaches/Athletic Directors/Section Office regarding increasing the number of 3-person opportunities during the season. It is important to identify and increase the number of formally trained officials in 3-person to demonstrate our commitment to improving the understanding of 3-person mechanics by high school officials in our section.

Attendance at the NCOA Summer Camp DOES NOT guarantee your game schedule for the upcoming season will change or improve. Your attendance at camp does ensure you are able to display your current skill set in front of observers who will share that information with the assignor. This year, every attendee will be given 2-3 specific areas that need improvement and 1 specific area of strength.

Lastly, for those attending high level camps that require basketball resumes, one resource available can be found on the SACO website (www.sacorefs.com) under the Resume Services tab.
